Sometimes, there's just no substitute for knowing your stuff! Communicator of the Week Award goes to Mehdi Hassan for his 1-man demolition in the Jubilee Channel YouTube debate '1 Progressive vs 20 Far-Right Conservatives' Given that he has written a book called 'Win Every Argument', you would expect Hasan to be good at debates. And it's fair to say that the 20 opponents he faced were not themselves professional debaters but largely young ill-informed far-right idiots. Still, there's a reason the video of this debate has already had over 8 million views. It got to the point where half the self-styled far fighters started to agree with him, and the others just descended into a pit of rank xenophobia and neo-nazism. (One of them was fired from his job for the deeply offensive views he proudly shared). As much as there are techniques to communicate your thoughts and ideas effectively, there really is no substitute for just knowing your shit. If you have a meeting, presentation, interview, Q&A etc coming up and you worry about being found out, or being asked the killer question that stumps you, ask yourself this: If I sat down in a quiet room for one hour (with my phone off) and devoted that entire time to working out and mastering the facts and detail about my topic, how confidently would I then be handle that meeting, presentation, interview, Q&A? Try it. You'll be surprised how impactful that hour will be. Kolarele p.s. are you ready to start working on your communication skills? Book in for a chat here |

Reform have a credibility challenge. People are angry with the status quo and Reform have very effectively stepped into that gap with a message that panders to fears and promises change. But now they are in government in Kent County Council, they...
In his seminal work on the art of rhetoric, Aristotle identified that there were 3 cornerstones of persuasion: Logos (the use of logic), Pathos (the appeal to emotion), and Ethos (the credibility and character of the speaker). Communicator of the Week Award goes to US President Donald Trump for the considerable part he played to secure the tentative Gaza peace deal. You may (as many do) consider Donald Trump to be an unpredictable, unprincipled, uncouth autocrat, but where all the parties on...
